When you stay with us at The Oberoi Vanyavilas Wildlife Resort, Ranthambhore, you must experience a safari to see Ranthambhore’s wildlife. Ranthambhore is amongst the best tiger reserves in India and with its current population of around 80 tigers, it has one of the highest densities of these big cats in the world.
Ranthambhore National Park and Tiger Reserve was placed under the protection of the Government of India’s Project Tiger programme in 1974 and since then, the population of tigers has grown and grown, making this probably the best National Park in India for tiger spotting.
The total park covers 1,344 square kilometres and includes the UNESCO World Heritage Ranthambhore Fort. Its natural landscape encompasses rivers, lakes, verdant hills and gorges. One of the largest lakes, Raj Bagh Talao, is frequented by sambar deer and hungry, thirsty tigers. Padam Talao is home to crocodiles and Malik Talao is a great place to spot peacocks, kingfishers and crocodiles. For your own safety, you cannot leave your vehicle to approach many of the lakes in Ranthambhore National Park because they also attract tigers. However, our drivers know the best places for you to photograph Ranthambhore wildlife during your jungle safari in Ranthambhore.
Because of the high density of tigers living in Ranthambhore National Park, it is ranked amongst the best wildlife resorts in the world, not only India. In recent years, the number of tigers spotted has increased drastically, with most guests of The Oberoi Vanyavilas Wildlife Resort reporting sightings upon returning from their jungle safari in Ranthambhore. ...
Our jungle drives are always led by experienced, professional guides and reputable drivers. Travel is in 4x4 vehicles that are owned by Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and have excellent suspension, cushioned seats and wide tyres for the difficult terrain. Interiors are equipped with charging points for most electronic devices.
While on safari at the best National Park in India, you will be driving through the trees but may also be in the sunlight, so we recommend you dress comfortably, in cotton or other natural materials, with shoulders covered. You might also like to pack a sunhat. Sunscreen is advisable. Please also remember to bring a water bottle. We would advise you eat beforehand, to avoid attracting unnecessary attention. Please do not bring food into the park and do not throw litter from the vehicle. Cameras, hands, arms, feet and heads should be kept inside the car at all times. Our guides are masters at spotting tigers in the undergrowth, so you can rest assured that unexpected surprises will be very unlikely. ...
All jungle safaris in Ranthambhore are overseen by the Government of Rajasthan’s Forest Department, who have strict rules to protect the tigers, all Ranthambhore wildlife and the integrity of the park. When placing a booking reservation, you will be required to share the full names of every member of your party, as well as a copy of a valid photo ID for each person. Indian nationals are permitted to submit a copy of their Aadhar card, driving licence or passport. Whatever photo ID is submitted at the time of booking, you will be required to show the original before entering the park.
Because Ranthambhore is known as one of the best wildlife resorts in India, with the best chance of spotting Royal Bengal tigers in the wild, jungle safaris here get booked up well in advance. We would recommend you pre-book your safari through us at the time you place your reservation at The Oberoi Vanyavilas Wildlife Resort....
The State Government are very strict about the number of visitors they will permit into the park each day and once this quota is full, there is no leeway. Safari booking requests made with less than 24 hours’ advance notice will depend on last minute cancellations received by the Forest Department. Hotels and resorts in the area have no power over these decisions. Please also be aware that jungle safaris in Ranthambhore are available every day except Wednesdays.
When in Ranthambhore, a tiger spotting safari is a must and will undoubtedly be a cherished memory to recount with your loved ones for years to come. But best of all, after returning from your safari, you will be greeted by the warm, heartfelt hospitality that can only be found at The Oberoi Vanyavilas Wildlife Resort in Ranthambore.
