We recommend you wear loose clothing that covers the shoulders and knees and is made from natural fabrics that will be comfortable in the hot weather. It is advisable to carry a hat at all times.
Arabic and English are widely spoken. French, German and Russian are also spoken in the major tourist areas.
Visitors are permitted to carry bank notes up to EGP 5,000 or less than USD 10,000 without making a customs declaration. Values exceeding this must be declared to customs and may be subject to import duty.
