New Delhi, India, 18th September 2015: In recognition of its significant contribution to tourism in the country and unremitting commitment to excellence, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts have been recognised at the National Tourism Awards again. The Group won 3 awards for the year 2013-2014 in the categories of Best 5 Star Deluxe hotel awarded to The Oberoi, New Delhi, Best Heritage (Grand) hotel awarded to The Oberoi Cecil, Shimla, and Best Chef in the 4, 5, 5-Star Deluxe and Heritage (Classic and Grand) categories awarded to Chef Ravitej Nath, Executive Chef, The Oberoi Gurgaon.
Instituted by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the National Tourism Awards are the most coveted awards for the Travel and Tourism industry in India and are presented annually in various categories. The Awards acknowledge exceptional performance and the contribution of hotels and tourist establishments in promoting India as a tourist destination.
Mr. Vikram Oberoi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, The Oberoi Group said "It is a great privilege to receive the awards from the President of India. The Oberoi, New Delhi has received the National Tourism Award for the third time after being recognised in 2011-2012 and in 2001 under the same category.Oberoi Hotels & Resorts have been recognized with this prestigious award by Ministry of Tourism several times. The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur was awarded with the National Tourism Award in 2010 - 2011. The Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra, received the National Tourism Award for three consecutive years.

About Chef Ravitej Nath, Executive Chef
Chef Ravitej Nath is the Executive Chef at The Oberoi, Gurgaon. He heads the culinary team comprising the world cuisine restaurant, threesixtyone° as well as the fine dining Indian coastal cuisine restaurant, amaranta and is responsible for all the culinary creations offered across the conventions, banquets, bar and staff dining room at the hotel. He was awarded the country's Best Chef by Hotelier India magazine in 2010 and 2014 for his innovative menus and authentic recipes.
Chef Ravitej Nath has been part of the jury of the Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) and the culinary events held at AHAAR organized by World Association of Chef Societies (WACS).
Chef Ravitej has mentored young chefs through the 'Hunar se Rozgar Yojana', a programme by the Ministry of Tourism to help young people from economically weaker sections of society to get vocational training in the kitchen.
Chef Ravitej was a part of the core team of Chefs at Hannover Messe 2015, which was inaugurated jointly by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Germany.
