India Gate is a magnificent sandstone memorial arch (42 metres high) engraved with the names of the 90,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives in World War One. Standing tall and serene at one end of Rajpath, the memorial is a wonderful sight to behold from every aspect as you drive around the busy ring road that is India Gate Circle. Stand at India Gate looking down Rajpath and you will see the magnificent Rashtrapati Bhawan (the President’s House).
