Under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, The Oberoi Group joins hands with SOS India to support family homes & higher education
New Delhi, March 20th, 2015: EIH Ltd. & EIH Associated Hotels Ltd. (the flagship companies of The Oberoi Group) under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) inaugurated Project SAKSHAM at SOS Children’s Village today. Under Project SAKSHAM , the Group companies will support 21 family homes consisting of 210 children and their 21 SOS mothers across nine locations in India. The project will also support higher education of 61 youth across the same locations. It will enable parentless children by ensuring quality education, health & nutrition, holistic development, up keep of the family home and extra-curricular activities. Over a period of time this will enable supported children to settle in their respective lives via careers and become contributing members of the society.
Today, CSR & sustainability development is accorded high priority in the organizational ethos and attempted to be interwoven in all the business activities and the projects that are being undertaken by The Oberoi Group.
The Project SAKSHAM was inaugurated at SOS Children’s Village, Bawana, Delhi; which is the second SOS Village set up in 1976. Mr. Vikram Oberoi, Chief Operating Officer and Joint Managing Director, Mr Arjun Oberoi, Chief Planning Officer and Joint Managing Director, Mr Kapil Chopra, President and other senior executives from The Oberoi Group along with Ms. Anuja Bansal, Secretary General and other senior management team from SOS Children’s Villages of India were present at the inauguration. The national project will be implemented across nine locations including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Jaipur & Bhubaneshwar.
