Bengaluru Palace was inspired by Tudor architecture. Its fortified towers, battlements and turrets could quite easily belong to an English stately home. The Bull temple of Bengaluru is dedicated to Nandi Bull, the vahan (vehicle) of Lord Shiva. It was built in 1537 CE by Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bengaluru and is a fine example of Dravidian architecture. One of the oldest temples in the city, it is a popular pilgrimage sight for devotes from around India. There is huge idol of Nandi Bull inside the temple which measures 4.5 metres in height and 6.5 metres in length. It is said to have been carved out of a single rock.
